Rafael Fuchs is a Brooklyn based artist, photographer, director, curator and producer. He received his BFA with honors from The Bezalel Art Academy In Jerusalem In the 80's, and gained numerous grants and awards, Including from The Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation, Communication Arts Photography, Photo District News, American Photographic Artists, American Photo magazine, Creativity magazine, and more.

Rafael Fuchs' work is diverse, and include portraits, fashion as well as personal social documentary. The portraiture section of his work Includes portraits of Colin Powell. Burt Reynolds, Emily Watson. Heather Graham, Derek Jeter, Mary J. Bilge. Beyonce, Tony Bennett. Geraido Rivera .3K Rowling, Jonathan Franzen, and more. His portfolios also include elaborate tableaux for editorials and advertising campaigns (Coke, Pepsi, Visa, Fuji, Marshalis, Akademiks, Target, Top Flite and more), as well personal works of self-portraits.

Rafael has been participating in numerous group shows (including " Junes Creatifs" in Paris, curated by Francois Hebei, "Artists To Artists" at the Ace gallery In NY) and had a dozen solo shows, including "The Way We Live" ,2006 at the Ad-Hoc gallery, Bklyn, NY, "Fucholow",2009 at Eastern District gallery ,Bklyn, NY and "Till We Bleed", "The Modernism Of Curiosity", "Bushwick Forever", "LandLords" ," 100 Polaroids" and "The New Religion" at Fuchs Projects, Bklyn, NY. (2013-2015)

Rafael contributed photographs to hundreds of editorial stories that were published in a variety of magazines as: Entertainment Weekly. W, Glamour, Details, Fortune, Forbes. Wired. Time, Newsweek, The Source. People, Life, and many more. A number of his images were published also in books, such as: Rolling Stone/Tattoo Nation (Bullfinch), My Favorite Model (Goliath), The Vibe History of Hip Hop, (Three Rivers Press), 10 Years of Dolce and Gabana (Jal), Tiwimuta, and more.

For his solo shows and curatorial projects Mr. Fuchs was featured by international TV stations. as the German ZDF . the Israeli Channell 1, American channel NY1 and by numerous publications as the Italian Conde Nast Traveller, Hong Kong Harper's Bazaar, Israeli Ha'aretz magazine, Beautiful Savage, The Wild magazine, Glitterrati Incorporated, The Examiner, Bushwick Daily, Curbs and Stoops Camera Club of NY, No. 3 magazine, Visura magazine and Podcast: The Gift Horse.

As a prominent figure In the Bushwick art scene for the past decade, Mr. Fuchs is the founding director of Fuchs Projects gallery that was conceived in 2012, and that operates as his open lab as well a platform that features works of emerging and mid-career artists that are creating challenging and educating works that are related especially to the photography media.

Rafael Fuchs self published 10 books including "Raw 1", "I Am Amerikan" and "Raw 5" He is currently working on editing and seeking a publisher for an upcoming double•volume book titled "Bushwick Forever."
