Good Charlotte is an American rock band from Waldorf, Maryland that formed in 1996. They took their name from the children's book called "Good Charlotte: The Girls of Good Day Orphanage," written by Carol Beach York.

The current members of the band are the identical twin brothers Joel (lead vocals) and Benji Madden (guitars and backing vocals), Billy Martin (guitars and keyboards), Paul Thomas (bass guitar) and Dean Butterworth (percussion).
